The Senior Stress Engineer will be responsible for executing and overseeing stress analysis work, including pipe stress analysis using Hexagon CAESAR II software and finite element analysis for various energy, oil, and gas applications. Projects will primarily support design engineering operations and in-service pressure equipment evaluations. Candidates should have a strong understanding of pipe stress, typical piping design practices, and the relevant industry codes and standards for designing and analyzing pressure piping systems. Duties/Responsibilities: Experience in one or more of the following areas: compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing, filtration/separation, CNG, LNG, measurement, and regulation. In-depth knowledge of construction means and methods, along with extensive field experience. Proficiency in using 3D design tools and conducting FEA analysis using CAESAR II, ANSYS, Simulation, or equivalent FEA software. Create and build 2D or 3D models of pressure vessels or other components for design or analysis using SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling tools. Prepare and review technical reports and engineering calculations. Conduct pipe stress analysis for a range of projects. Provide technical support to the Specialty Engineering group and the broader engineering team. Offer feedback to internal engineering teams on design suitability, support loadings, and nozzle loadings. Review stress analysis results, technical drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer requirements. Provide technical guidance to resolve complex engineering challenges and optimize pipe system designs for efficiency and reliability. Prepare specifications for major equipment, develop equipment bid packages, participate in technical and commercial reviews, provide equipment bid recommendations, and review equipment drawings. Support in-service stress evaluations for Fitness-For-Service, change of service, or other necessary analyses. Demonstrate an interest in training and mentoring junior engineers in stress analysis. Stakeholder Collaboration: Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to address technical inquiries, scope changes, and project updates. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate designs with overall infrastructure plans and operational strategies. Required Skills/Abilities: Proficiency with Hexagon CAESAR II is required. Experience with CADWorx and SolidWorks Simulation is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to discuss analysis results with both technical experts and non-technical clients and stakeholders. Strong written reporting skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities. In-depth knowledge of principles, procedures, and best practices in stress analysis. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable. A minimum of 7 years of experience in stress analysis, with a focus on pressure equipment. Robust knowledge of industry and government codes and standards, including ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, B31.12, CFR 49 Part 192, CFR 49 Part 193, CFR 49 Part 195, and ASCE 7. Extensive experience troubleshooting existing systems and common industry issues to independently solve technical problems. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
