Tuba City RegionalHealth Care Corporation, a JCAHO accredited health center, provides services toa 4,400 square mile area and serves as a referral center for the western partof the Navajo and Hopi Reservations. The hospital was constructed in 1975 witha bed capacity of 73. Services provided to the community include comprehensiveinpatient/outpatient emergency services, dental and ophthalmology services,orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery and urological procedures.Approximately 49% of the surgeries performed are out patient/ambulatorysurgical procedures. This semi-desert landscape varies in elevation from 4,400in the Little Colorado River Valley to nearly 7,000 feet at Preston Mesa. Theunique community of Tuba City offers a culturally rich environment. The NativeAmerican tribes located and served here are the Navajo, Hopi, and SouthernPaiute. This mixture along with Anglo, Hispanic, and African American employeesof the hospital and school systems make a pleasantly diverse community. Thestaff of medical providers includes surgeons, general medical officers,internal medicine, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice physicians,obstetricians, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, and urologists. Dentalstaff includes general dentists, endodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons,pediatric dentists, dental assistants and hygienists. The nursing staffincludes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants,community health nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, CRNA, andcommunity health medics.

The Clinical Nurse performs a variety of nursing careprocedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration for specificpatient conditions and treatments, and ability to work independently incompleting assignments. Guidelinesinclude physicians orders, standards of care, nursing policies and proceduresmanuals, hospital policies. Nursingduties include support to individuals of all ages and their families.

NECESSARYQUALIFICATIONS
•Associates or bachelors degree in Nursing
•A valid, current, full and unrestrictedProfessional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the UnitedStates of America, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of theUnited States
•Must maintain a current valid certification ofthe following throughout employment:

o BasicLife Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

o Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from theAmerican Heart Association

o Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from theAmerican Heart Association

o Complete Pediatric Trauma Care After Resusition(P-CAR) within 6 months of hire

o National Institutes of Health (NIH) NIHSS NIH Stroke Scale must be completed (within 6 months of hire)

o Patient Sitter Competency up on hire
