Job Description:

Overlooking the Poinsettia Valley and the lush golf courses at the Omni La costa Resort & Spa, Bar Traza offers rustic, mediterranean shared plates, curated cocktails and delicious light bites in a timeless spanish-colonial setting. Bar Traza's menu reflects european flavors and the fresh lifestyle of coastal cuisines. Our goal is for Bar Traza to be the premiere lounge venue in North San Diego County.

The Cocktail/Food Server plays a vital role in providing an escape for guests by selling and serving intriguing cocktails, beverages, and menu items. In this role, you are a champion of warm, personalized service.

*This is a seasonal position with an anticipated start date of May 15, 2024, and an end date of September 15, 2024.

Responsibilities:
  • Report for scheduled shifts on time and in the assigned uniform.
  • Maintain a professional, neat, well-groomed appearance.
  • Greet guests with a welcoming demeanor and provide a personalized service experience by following all Omnis Steps of Service protocols as detailed by management.
  • Assist with re-setting tables according to proper table setting standards immediately upon guest departure.
  • Script food sales and be knowledgeable about menu items, including specials, cocktails, and wine.
  • Sell and up-sell items to increase per person check average.
  • Maximize beverage sales by suggesting trend-setting specialty cocktails.
  • Know setting guidelines, table numbers and overall dining room procedures. Use position points to avoid auctioning off orders.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly and follow company policy and procedure regarding alcohol service.
  • Take the guests order, serve the courses accordingly and promptly tender payment of check. Always say thank you to guests as they leave and invite them back using the guests name.
  • Responsible for running food, drinks, bringing condiments, and other guest requests.
  • Clear tables of non-essential plates, silverware, and glassware during every course throughout the guest meal. Bring dirty plates and glassware to side stations or return to bar appropriately.
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system and run all necessary reports. Tender all checks opened in your number, follow end of shift balancing, and check procedures.
  • Work as a team with all Associates to maintain an effective, positive atmosphere to run an efficient food and beverage service.
  • Be attentive and proactive in offering assistance to members and guests.
  • Assist in enforcing adult pool policies and standards.
  • Work safely and follow all Omni Safety and Loss Prevention standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years cocktail or food serving experience is required.
  • Must have excellent wine, beer and cocktail knowledge.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have great communication skills the ability to engage with guests .professionally, appropriately and courteously.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Necessary Licenses/Certifications:

  • RBS Certification will be required prior to the start of employment.
  • Must complete CA Food Handlers Card training provided upon hire.

The employee must be able to deftly maneuver between tight confines in the bar and pool areas, including on occasionally wet pool deck surfaces, while clearing items and/or carrying trays of food and beverages. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr + tips
