Quality Assurance Manager
for direct hire at our Avenel, NJ facility.

Position Summary:
The Quality Manager performs all functions needed to maintain quality management system, food safety, and programs which assure a foundation for product excellence and provide a basis for long-term continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Formulate, direct, and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the quality assurance department.
Hire and train new employees in food safety, quality assurance and quality control activities.
Manage internal and external auditing of quality systems.
Oversee the resolution of non-conforming areas (process and product).
Manage and Audit company policies, procedures, and systems that affect product quality to assure compliance with the company’s quality system and good manufacturing processes. Prepare documents and reports.
Work with production personnel in an advisory role to assist them with quality issues within their departments.
Assist and provide quality training to production employees.
Troubleshoot and resolve product quality problems by researching problems, analyzing data, and developing solutions to problems while working in conjunction with Product Development team.
Oversee analytical work done at each step of the production process to assure that quality control standards are maintained.
Develop and maintain finished product packaging specifications for each product.
Provide technical support to customers and assist in the resolution of problems.
Conduct analytical testing to determine the solution.
Review and approve the purchase of QA & Sanitation testing supplies and equipment.
Ensure completion of preventative maintenance and repairs of instrumentation.
Supervise employees engaged in quality assurance activities.
Develops and implements quality systems designed to reduce and/or eliminate non-conformances, increases efficiency, and supports Supply Chain agility & working relationships.
Works with Human Resources to anticipate talents needs. Strengthen quality department infra-structure through education, training, performance-based appraisals, and recruiting. Enforce company policies, establish performance standards, and evaluate employee status.
Hire, train, mentor, monitor, and assist QA employees.
Maintain and manage the FDA SOP programs and review daily documentation generated to assure regulatory and specification compliance.
Oversee plant hygiene and pest control programs. Ensure compliance with SQF, HARPC/HACCP, process and quality SOPs, and adherence to cGMP standards.
Interface with 3rd party auditors, Kosher Council, and county, state, and federal agencies as pertains to audits, GMP, HACCP, regulatory, quality, and food safety issues.
Responsible for Food Quality, Safety and Legality.
Requirements:
Clear communication skills in (writing and speaking). Bilingual is highly preferred.
Good interpersonal skills (Active listening, flexibility, patience, collaborating and working well together with others)
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and near moving machinery.
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as stand, walk, bend, lift, kneel, reach, climb stairs and work in different environments (cold/wet/hot) throughout the shift in order to complete the variety of tasks assigned.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Understand and follow Company Policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, Allergen Program
Prior experience in Quality Assurance, HACCP knowledge, GMP implementation and SOP creator.
