The Health Information Management Specialist is responsible for validating the quality of documentation received prior to scanning and indexing into the electronic medical record; preparing documentation for scanning by following all established procedures and guidelines; completion of release of information requests according to the organization's policies while adhering to State and Federal regulations; maintaining paper records and loose documentation according to policies and procedures; and assisting with subpoena coordination with staff, lawyers and courts.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED minimum requirement, Associate Degree preferred.
- Certificate or Professional License: RHIT Certification preferred.
- Experience: Prefer 1 year in medical records and release of information.
- Valid driver's license and active liability insurance
- Satisfactory results from criminal background check
Pay range: $19- $21/ hour
