Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary: Logistics Coordinator supports both national and local sales teams to ensure that the highest standard of service and excellent customer satisfaction are achieved every day. Logistics Coordinator will manage all outbound customer Purchase Order shipments that require coordination via Third Party Common Carriers. Logistics Coordinator interacts daily with CSRs, Logistics Clerk- and distributor customers to tender POs for shipment, coordinating dispatch (tender outbound loads and arrange delivery appointments), and resolving delayed or late deliveries. Logistics Coordinator is responsible for contracting and auditing freight lanes, and approving freight invoices for payment.
Position Responsibilities / Objectives
Manage distributor customer interactions as a primary point of contact for daily logistic operations and outbound shipments

Ensure delivery of excellent customer service through fast and accurate processing of orders, communication and coordinating with other departments to resolve inquires
Build and maintain business relationships with customers by providing prompt and accurate service so as to promote customer loyalty

Contract freight lanes to ensure consistent equipment capacity and freight costs for optimized supply and best value / lowest cost
Responsible for scheduling all outbound transportation needs, including but not limited to LTL, Truckload, Intermodal, air and small parcel (both domestic and international)

Manage data entry recording and analyze all outbound PO shipments on database
Track all deliveries and shipments providing Proof of Delivery (when applicable)

Responsible for auditing freight invoices and periodic Supply Chain analysis to identify and recommend opportunities for optimized supply and logistic cost savings
Prepare and present standardized outbound freight reports

Collaborate and serve as liaison between distribution customers, internal sales representatives, shipping departments (fresh and cold storage) and third-party transport carriers
Education/Experience
Significant experience within Logistics / Transportation industry (DOT Regulations, etc.)
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficient skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experienced in ERP / SAP systems
