Electrical Engineer

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:Conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving all types of electrical equipment and wiring systems, primarily with a focus on systems within vehiclesPerform electrical evaluations of failed and damaged components to determine the root cause of the failure including evaluation of vehicle electrical components, ADAS systems, LiDAR, smart and controls systemsApply engineering principles in accordance with industry standards to investigation analysisConduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients and relay analysis in laymen's termsInvestigate fires involving electrical equipment and systemsPrepare and submit written reports that document failure(s), extent of loss, cause(s) and recommended remediationDeliver professional presentations and promote self to client groupsDevelopment and retention of client relationships with assistance of business development group Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings, including deposition and serving as a subject matter expert at trialMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending company-paid educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participate in professional societiesPosition Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required, Master's Degree preferred P.E. registration within 12 months of starting positionFive years of post-academic engineering experienceBackground in automotive electrical systemsExcellent oral and writing skillsPublic speaking experience a plusExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsPhysical Requirements:Ability to travel as needed; approximately 90% of required travel is to local sites (by vehicle), approximately 10% overnight travelAbility to lift 80 lbs.Ability to remove large and or heavy artifacts from fire scenesAbility to carry equipment (shovels, camera, evidence case, etc.) up flights of stairsAbility to shovel out fires and lift fire debris in conjunction with investigations, for up to 3 to 4 hours at a timeAbility to maneuver in and around buildings and structures and climb laddersAbility to drive to site locations and fly on airplanesAbility to effectively communicate with clients and colleaguesAbility to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work siteBenefits:Extensive forensic trainingTwo medical plan options Dental & vision coverage401(k) with company matchPaid vacation, sick days and holidaysCompany-paid STD, LTD and life insuranceTuition Reimbursement ProgramBonus ProgramSEA places a strong value and priority on diversity, equity and inclusion across the company.
