Ensures that activities are carried out in a timely manner and that goals are met. Oversees shared responsibility for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement & accreditation initiatives in the assigned markets. Assistance with oversight of Multiple/Regional Medical Directors. Accountability for day-to-day medical management activities and results. Develops value propositions for clinical programs through quantitative analytics, ROI, and evidence-based data. Assists in the interpretation of medical policy for associates to facilitate the healthcare needs of our patients.Develops and manage activities to ensure compliance with Federal and State accreditation standards. Works closely with leadership to develop strategies to improve quality of care and clinical outcomes. Develops training and educational materials for internal and external use. Makes recommendations (based on daily activities of evaluating patient care) about medical policy, clinical criteria and administrative process. Provides leadership for various corporate and local initiatives as assigned. Visits targeted programs for recruitment, as well as performing proactive provider visits on a regular basis.Assists with provider education regarding pharmacy, utilization, quality improvement and responsible health care expenditure to improve clinical outcomes. Represents AccentCare at various meetings and conferences on an ongoing basis. Works with the local and state medical community to assist in the development and maintenance of a strong, quality network of providers. Establishes and maintains relationships with key state stakeholders in partnership with the AccentCare Executive Team.Attend (at minimum remotely) every IDG in the region at least once per quarter. Participate in weekly (at once minimum) leadership discussions with the Medical Director of each program. Attend (at minimum remotely) every program's Vital Signs meeting1-2 times per quarter. Provide on-site collaboration with each program in the region at least 1-2 times per quarter. Round at In-Patient Centers at least 2 days per month (as appropriate). Participate in Regional Leadership/Support calls weekly. Participate in monthly National Medical Director calls. Participate in weekly discussion with the VP of Physician Operations. Every other week call with Chief Medical Officer. Participate in Quarterly Physician/Non-Physician Practitioner Bootcamps in national office. Additionally, provide the Local Medical Direction and manage at least one IDG team in any of the programs within the Region. QualificationsRegional Medical Director Qualifications:MD. or D.O., licensed to practice. Board Certification in primary specialty and/or Hospice & Palliative Medicine is preferred. Current license without restrictions in working state or the ability to obtain that license if necessary and ability to acquire license in multiple states.Demonstrated commitment to AccentCare's philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organizational culture. Demonstrate exceptional knowledge surrounding hospice & palliative care practice standards and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated ability to speak/present to audiences of varying sizes and medical and/or non-medical backgrounds. Demonstrated experience and leadership in staff, volunteer, and community education. Demonstrated expertise in management and supervision of other healthcare professionals, especially physicians and Advanced Practice nurses.Significant leadership and bedside experience in Palliative and Hospice care. Significant experience and leadership in medical administration. Significant expertise in program development, education, and quality.Clinical practice management experience with the understanding of: Medical billing; coding; medical practice accounting; reports needed to monitor practice health; billing programs and employee requirements/job descriptions.Coverage for our New England region: Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, Rhode Island and the District of Columbia
