We are seeking an exceptional technology leader to join Caring.com as our Vice President of Engineering. In this transformational role, you will spearhead our engineering efforts to revolutionize how we serve caregivers and providers through cutting-edge digital solutions. This role reports into the CEO and will be a key member of the executive leadership team.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a bold technology strategy aligned with Caring.com’s mission to vastly enhance the caregiver and provider experience.
  • Attract, develop and inspire exceptional engineering talent; build and lead a high-performing, innovative engineering culture.
  • Spearhead efforts to transition to modern architectures, frameworks and processes to drive velocity and quality.
  • Experience leading technical data strategy – infuse AI, machine learning, data science and personalization capabilities throughout our products.
  • Deliver highly available, scalable and secure platforms supporting delightful user experiences.
  • Champion software engineering best practices including agile processes, test automation and DevOps methodologies.
  • Collaborate across the organization to ensure platforms, data and user experiences are continuously optimized.
  • Lead IT team focused on desktop support, including hardware provisioning, management, and ticket resolution.
  • Implement information security best practices, ensuring appropriate governance across the business.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, technology partners, and service providers to optimize the technology ecosystem.

Our ideal VP, Engineering will have:

  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, preferably delivering consumer technology products, marketplace experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to attract, develop and inspire top engineering talent and foster an innovative culture.
  • Experience transforming engineering organizations to leverage modern tools, architectures and processes.
  • Deep expertise in software development life cycles, agile methodologies, cloud technologies and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working with high-functioning product and business teams to drive value for the organization.
  • An outcome-based mindset, with a clear understanding of how engineering priorities will impact the P&L.
  • Track record driving major technology initiatives involving AI, machine learning, data science and personalization.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization and decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding communicator skilled at sharing vision, building alignment and operating as a strategic partner.
  • Curiosity, humility, and a passion for lifelong learning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
