Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Fiber Engineering and Construction to join our growing team. In this role, you will report directly to the Vice President of Network Planning, Engineering & Construction and lead the engineering and construction of Brightspeed’s $2B investment in fiber network deployment, including all aspects of fiber network design, architecture and engineering, network construction, infrastructure services provider and vendor coordination, scheduling and performance management, development of engineering and construction guidelines for new fiber architecture, project issue management and government and municipal relations support. You will be in a key leadership position within Brightspeed, managing the growth diver of the business via the fiber network upgrade and fiber product deployment to 3M prems, and over 50% of the Brightspeed customer base. You will have a strong business acumen, the abilities to define and implement groundbreaking ideas, to work within a fast-moving environment to rapidly deliver support and services that have a broad business impact, and desire to have an industry wide impact. You will also have significant prior work experience in fiber network deployments. As a Head of Fiber Engineering and Construction, you will have the following duties and responsibilities: Lead and program manage all aspects of a $2B fiber network build and upgrade to 3M+ prems Manage all aspects of the network design, engineering, wire center and outside plan build and related strategies and plans Direct local engineering teams and infrastructure services providers in all build design strategies and deployment scheduling and requirements Negotiate pricing, performance, resource requirements and augmentation related to the fiber build program with both material OEMs and infrastructure services providers Project manage the Go to Market strategy for all new fiber-based voice and data product offerings Provide operational and network strategy support in interactions with state and local government matters related to Brightspeed’s fiber deployment. Support the application process for Federal, State and Local Municipality subsidies for broadband deployment funding Business process owner in the design and development of newly developed and deployed network inventory, engineering, construction, and related build management systems Drive the company culture and strategies. Createstrategies to achieve business goals such as increasing revenues, optimizing expenses, and developing a skilled, motivated, satisfied, and diverse workforce Leadby example in creating an environment that encourages open communication, sharing ideas and best practices, and building strong cross-functional relationships WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and or Project Management Significant prior industry experience in facility engineering and network deployments Prior industry experience in large scale fiber deployments Significant prior industry experience in managing infrastructure service providers Strong communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with cross functional teams Process improvement and customer-centric mindset Ability to motivate others and work under pressure Excellent oral and written communications skills Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate via written and through oral communication BONUS POINTS FOR: Master’s Degree in Engineering or Telecommunications #LI-SS1 WHY JOIN US?
