Our Client is a leading North American producer of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). As a Total Rewards Compensation Senior Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the growing Total Rewards team, supporting key business partners and their employees. The position is located in Arlington, VA.

You will bring your experience and ideas for building out job architecture, performing job analysis, creating job descriptions, harmonizing titles and classes, and conducting equity analysis for base, bonus, and other short- and long-term incentives. Your experience with compensation and merit cycles & benchmarking analysis will be essential for this role.
General Description Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and/or creates job descriptions for each position in the organization; works with stakeholders to ensure descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
  • Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position and assists with the compensation cycles.
  • Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales/levels.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports for job analysis and compensation data.
  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.
  • Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in position and program proposals and budgeting.
  • Researches similar industries; based on findings, recommends changes or updates to the company's existing total rewards jobs, programs, or policies.
  • Works with brokers and consultants to create competitive, cost-effective total rewards packages for the organization; facilitates implementations and rollouts of new programs or sunsetting old programs.
  • Conducts focus groups to collect employee feedback on specific issues or topics related to Total Rewards.
  • Plans and communicates preferred compliant methods for handling compensation and total rewards data in new or existing systems.
  • Advises management on applicable state, federal, and global Total Rewards compensation regulations.
  • Works in a collaborative team environment or leads teams or workstreams.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
  • Two to three years of experience as a compensation analyst.
  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of compensation and HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Excel, including complex formulas and macros, and other Microsoft Office Suite or similar software programs needed to manage Total Rewards data.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Compensation Certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Excel.
  • Experience setting up and administering domestic and global compensation structures and programs.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or accommodate different time zones as needed.
  • Supervisory or experience leading workstreams.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
