Mission of the Role: The Senior Hardware Architect will accelerate Visteon's reputation for technical excellence by leading the hardware architecture of Visteon Product Coverage to deliver a scalable, high-quality product design and drive future-state hardware technology roadmap priorities.

Key Objectives of this Role:

Analyzing, designing, and developing architecture solutions that meet product and customer requirements:

  • Managing platform-level hardware architecture decisions.
  • Executing product roadmap that reflects organizational, market and customer demands (including hardware system specifications and requirements).
  • Leading design activities (at the product and component-level) with internal and external stakeholders (including third-party suppliers).
  • Interfacing directly with customers as needed to gather intelligence and/or facilitate technical presentations.
  • Developing innovative and reliable solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Defining component level tests to meet customer requirements.
  • Interfacing with customer and advanced engineering teams.
  • Assisting the purchasing team to manage product supply.
  • Working with CYS, FuSa, software and other disciplines to ensure aligned solutions.
  • Evaluating, refining and deploying design documentation templates and guidelines.
  • Training and mentoring lower-level architects to develop skills to quote, design and deliver successful products.
  • Publishing technical papers/journals in conferences / publications.
  • Helping to define technical solution during RFQ processes:
Reviewing customer RFQs, generating compliance matrices, evaluating technical feasibility and supporting quote creation.
  • Architecting solutions that meet customer requirements during the quote process.
  • Reviewing and approving quote and program architecture decisions.
  • Assisting pursuit teams to assemble / present quotes, write TADs and TDRs and cost BOMs.
  • Leading technical assessment during program quotes.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Support Cost Optimization: Support project cost optimization effectively, monitoring expenditures and ensuring that initiatives are delivered within budgetary constraints.
  • Technical Innovation: Measure the introduction and successful implementation of technologies or solutions that contribute to the organization's competitiveness and market leadership.
  • Quality and Performance Metrics: Track the quality and performance of products or systems, meeting or exceeding established technical and functional specifications.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Measure customer satisfaction with Visteon products, services, or projects, reflecting the success of meeting customer needs.
Key Year One Deliverables:
  • Win target percentage of pre-pursuits and pursuits
  • Awarded program hardware delivery/execution (related costs, PAD scores)
  • Percentage of "on-platform" program wins
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in the automotive domain focusing on the last 5 years of experience in ADAS, CoC, Infotainment, or similar at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • In-depth experience in bringing electronics from concept to mass production.
  • In-depth knowledge of power electronics system analysis including electric, mechanical and thermal.
  • Solid exposure to software knowledge including; Applications requirements, functional safety, CAN messages, Flashing software and Vector tools.
  • Strong experience in interacting with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Direct customer experience in both sales and delivery phases.
