The position provides an opportunity to be mentored by a senior controls expert on all aspects of project controls. Duties & Responsibilities Provide controls support services in coordination with Planning, Design, and Construction Management staff. Support development of project budget and schedule. Support cost management – including forecasting and change management. Provide customized controls reporting. Produce cash-flow analysis. Reconciliation of cost system data with accounting system. Perform periodic updates of budget/cost and schedule data based on information provided by others. Able to present findings and recommendations to senior staff and/or clients. Required Qualifications & Education A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, or Structural Engineering required plus 1-3 years of experience working on construction projects, preferably on vertical construction projects. This is a Chicago based project and relocation assistance will be offered. Some experience with Project Management Information Systems, plus proficiency with MS Excel and Access, including query building. Must be customer focused and have the ability to identify issues and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex matters of a diverse scope and nature and have demonstrated ability to be creative and have advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to transfer prior experience to new projects. Experience in strategic planning and execution with exceptional independent judgment and evaluation. Demonstrated ability to accurately and efficiently complete deliverables and meet deadlines while producing quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously managing several assignments. A self-starter who solves problems and works independently. Organized and detail oriented.
