We are hiring for an Area Distribution Manager for the Houston Texas area you will be responsible for managing the distribution activities of assigned depot operations. In this role you will be empowered to manage and coach delivery drivers and ensure the maximization of delivery truck utilization standards are met. Provide extended support of store level delivery execution for in-store sales, promotions, and customer service. Responsibilities:
- Manages 12 - 14 team members to achieve distribution support of sales operate within DOT guidelines and implementation of safety practices.
- Manages team to ensure the maximization of delivery truck utilization and provide extended support of store level sales opportunities through in-store promotions and customer service.
- Manages the preparation of distribution maintenance dynamic routing and pre-trip/post-trip execution.
- Manages the recruitment hiring training and development of all team members.
- Prepares and presents financial and budget reports to management on status and key performance indicators (ie; rental and maintain budgets)
- Monitors ongoing team members performance, communicate delivery execution results and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Analyze all distribution data and reports in order to make relevant business decisions.
- Manages customer relationships through continuous communications between sales, merchandising and operations to ensure maximum efficiencies and customer service.
- Ensures compliance and implementation of all company safety and DOT policies and procedures.
- Requires 20-30% travel locally with some overnight travel required (ie sales meetings, helping out another market)
- 5+ years experience in a role involving trucking, distribution operations
- DSD experience in the food industry and a Bachelors degree would be a plus
- Experience working with computers and with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Basic understanding of financial/business requirements.
- The ability to effectively present information in group settings to a wide variety of audiences.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
