has partnered with a

growing manufacturing company in the northern New Jersey

area to recruit a

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (onsite five (5) days per week ) to support the accounting team. The manufacturing company has a national presence, and this position will support the VP of Accounting at the parent-company level (consolidations).

The ideal candidate is someone with strong consolidation and technical accounting experience.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data from various entities using multiple ERPs i.e.

strong Excel skills . This candidate must bring analytical and organizational skills to support the accounting team.

Key Position Responsibilities
Contribute to all the daily aspects of accounting, financial statements, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, tax compliance, and revenue recognition
Strong knowledge of group accounting
Reconcile, analyze, and review intercompany accounts in preparation for month-end close to ensure accuracy and validity of accounting transactions
Prepare journal entries and intercompany invoices in accordance with GAAP and intercompany agreements
Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements
Maintain a list of intercompany agreements
Responsible for the general ledger and accounting for the holding company Group entity
Work with Vice President & Corporate Controller to prepare weekly cash flow forecasts
Assist the Vice President & Corporate Controller in driving the accounting teams ongoing initiatives to shorten the monthly close cycle
Prepare reports and provide analysis to drive the Companys efforts to optimize working capital management
Review percentage of completion (POC) accounting schedules from the Companys subsidiaries and assist in efforts to drive consistency across the Company
Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) under the direction of the Vice President & Corporate Controller
Assist finance team members at operating companies with accounting and reporting matters
Collaborate with external auditors to provide the information needed for the annual audit and contribute to completion of the audit in compliance with GAAP, with an additional focus on minimizing adjustments and limiting internal control comments
Enthusiastically take on special projects and ad hoc reporting requirements of the business
Support high standards for the finance function and each of its processes and help to implement best practice process and systems in key accounting functions
Understanding of Consolidations and indexing/ mapping accounts from different ERP systems

Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent hands-on accounting skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; proven experience in a fast-paced PE-backed or similar environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills required)
Desire and ambition to learn and grow

Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
CPA designation highly preferred
3 5 years or more of related accounting and team leadership experience required; Big 4 background strongly preferred
Meaningful percentage of completion accounting experience is a plus, preferably in a manufacturing or project related environment
Experience in an industrial manufacturing company and/or with a multilocation footprint, whether as an employee or in a client service role, is a plus
