A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SPEECH THERAPIST
As a speech therapy professional in home health care, you play an essential role in providing our patients with high-quality services that are in accordance with their plan of care. You assist the physician in evaluating the level of functioning in each patient by providing initial and ongoing assessments. After making decisions based on assessments, you help develop or revise the plan of care, prepare clinical and progress notes, and consult with the family and other agency personnel.
You provide all services in accordance with CMS documentation and billing requirements. The safety of your patients is of the utmost importance to you, and you take great care to practice infection control by following universal precautions. You also actively recognize and report any forms of abuse according to policy as well as federal and state laws. When needed, you assist with orientation for new hires and participate in any training activities. Having a job that makes a direct positive impact in the lives of your patients brings you great satisfaction, which is why you excel in this speech therapy position
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SPEECH THERAPIST
- One year of speech therapy experience
- Current license in good standing with the state of Oklahoma medical board
- CPR certification or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of being hired
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
