DescriptionEssential Job Functions: Operate boom trucks, rough terrain cranes and truck cranes in a safe and efficient mannerMove levers, depress foot pedals, or turn dials to operate cranes or other moving equipment for liftingLoad or unload bundles from trucks or containersDetermine load weights and ensure lifting capacities to prevent overloadDirect signal persons, riggers, truck drivers and all personnel involved before and during lifting operationsMaintain and inspect crane daily and have the ability to make minor repairs as neededOther duties as assigned.Required Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalentWork Experience: Two (2) years' experience as a crane operatorLicense/Certifications:Valid NCCCO certificationNew Mexico locations only: Strongly preferred NM Crane License or over 500 hrs. operating hydraulic cranes over 10T.Post Job Offer Requirements:Take and pass a pre-employment drug testAlaska North Slope locations only: Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty ExaminationKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Knowledge of crane operators (boom, mobile, tower, overhead, articulating and etc.) and other heavy civil construction equipment functions and operationsKnowledge of proper equipment use conducive to conditions and assignmentHave a thorough knowledge of OSHA rules and standardsKnowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to equipment use and operationHighly skilled in operating cranes and other heavy equipment and machines while maintaining safety and efficiencySkills in daily maintenance of machines including repairs and inspecting equipment to identify possible problemsSkills in use of Computer/Laptop or other supporting devices commensurate with program and job applicationsAbility to use time and equipment efficiently in order to complete projects on timeAbility to communicate effectively in a team environmentAbility to handle stress and possess positive trait even in difficult or challenging situationsAbility to attend training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by departmentPhysical Demand/Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
