Consumer Loan Insurance Specialist

Job Description

Obtain and submit collateral insurance on new installment loans.

Work with customers and insurance companies to provide letter of guaranty, process claim payments, oversee the total loss claims.

Track and monitor GAP insurance claims for accurate processing.

Assist and backup the processing of the bank's Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) program.

Process returned mail.

Process and mail department letters and notices.

Provide customer service to installment loan customers.

Notify customers of their first payment, and a reminder on accounts almost 16 days past due.

Requirements

Prior collections experience preferred.

Strong verbal communication skills, demonstrating ability to use tact, diplomacy and a professional personal appearance when dealing with customers and co-workers.

Ability to initiate work activities with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment when accepting repayment arrangements or taking further collection action.

Accuracy and attention to detail.

Good math and statistical aptitude.

Strong customer service and relations skills.

Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment. Ability to establish and meet deadlines.

Analytical, organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

Good typing, word processing and written communication skills. Good proof reading and editing skills.

Ability to learn and understand regulatory and compliance issues as it applies to their area of responsibility.

Ability to learn and understand applicable statutes and procedures affecting the collection or recovery of payments/debts.

Ability to locate borrowers who have ceased making loan payments.
