ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.Position SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Executive Vice President, serves as the operational leader for a designated service line to ensure that care is of high quality and that value is aligned and integrated across the system. This position assumes the leadership for growth, development, and service building initiatives across the system. This leader will have the overall responsibility for:- the successful development and implementation of strategic, programmatic, and operational planning for the hospitalist service across ECU Health.- responsibility for physician and hospital integration, excellence in clinical outcomes, improved relationship with internal and external customers, gains in operational efficiencies, and managing all functions of the ECU Health Hospitalist Services necessary to position and maintain the organization as a Center of Excellence.- ensuring broader organizational support around identified goals, strategies, budgets and metrics associated with the Hospitalist Services.- building the organizational structure, talent, and other capabilities to implement and operate the function of the services.- establishing, measuring and achieving performance metrics, consistent with ECU Health expectations.- directing and promoting best practice in the hospitalist arena to include, but not limited to, assuring regulatory, accreditation and clinical standards are met per the Joint Commission and other regulatory and accreditation agencies.Responsible for advancing the mission of ECU Health and the vision for Hospitalist Services by providing strong leadership in coordination with the Hospitalist Chiefs and Medical Directors, entity executives, and ECU Health Medical Group leadership, as well as other service-line leaders across ECU Health and throughout the 29-county region. This includes ensuring a system of care is in place to support the continuous improvement of ECU Health Hospitalist partnerships in the acute care environment with consulting physicians, emergency departments, and post-acute providers. The incumbent will also maintain close working relationships and communication with entity and medical group leadership related to ECU Health Hospitalist Services.Minimum RequirementsMaster's degree is required- or higher. If Masters in Health Care Administration, MPH, MBA will seek out opportunities to update knowledge. If MSN, must maintain RN licensure through North Carolina State.5 years or greater experience is required in related fields.
