Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain reconciliations including summary and roll-forward schedules of balance sheet accounts, related sub-ledgers and Data Bases to ensure that the financial statements are properly stated and appropriate internal controls are in place.

Main Responsibilities
  • Reviews and summarizes the monthly activity in fixed asset and intangible assets, calculates depreciation/amortization, prepares appropriate journal entries and prepares summaries to properly roll-forward balances and expenses as reported in the General Ledger.
  • Reviews cash receipts, identifies related transaction activity and prepares entries to record the activity properly in the ledger including reconciliation of AR subledgers as appropriate.
  • Review Credit Card activity and validate coding.
  • Update Lease Query tool and prepare monthly journal entry.
  • Understands the impact of the journal entries and can identify and correct items as necessary.
  • Performs variance analysis and prepares related commentary.
  • Reviews invoices and prepares coding to appropriate ledger account, identifies items that expand beyond the current period and prepares appropriate prepaids and amortizes items over the benefit period.
  • Develops and understands the business of Altruix and ensures that the financial statements reflect the operations of the organization consistent with GAAP.
  • Prepares analyses in support of the annual audit.
  • Works collaboratively within Finance function, Supply Chain, Operations, etc.
  • Performs additional ad hoc analyses as required from time-to-time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct G/L
  • 2-5 years of relevant financial analysis experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills
  • Collaborative style, can-do attitude and high intellectual curiosity preferred.
