Looking for a creative problem solver, proactive and steadfast in the identification and resolution of quality issues and improving Vehicle Warranty. The selected individual will have experience in automotive and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automotive engineering, manufacturing and quality landscape. The candidate must be high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictionsa self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style and demeanor, effectively sells ideas and solutions to others. Person will be responsible for quality monitoring activities in collaboration with Suppliers, Quality, Engineering and Technical Service Operations with a focus on:Field failure data analysis and warranty reductionAssessment of production part changes and the subsequent impact on service partsRecommendation and implementation of process improvements at supplier manufacturing locationsRESPONSIBILITIESManage and resolve product launch quality issues and manage continuous improvement activities for a given Commodity or Vehicle systemsMonitor customer product quality levels, including field diagnostic issues, with a focus on improvement through corrective action and product enhancements.Plan, prioritize, set goals and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment.Exhibit a willingness to do things differently and consistently translate ideas into actions that deliver resultsDevelop relationships and work closely with the various internal Engineering Organizations to ensure transfer of product knowledge within the appropriate service organizations.Participate in technical discussion and collaborate with the cross-functioning teams such as product design, quality, service operations, purchasing, inventory control and program management.REQUIREMENTSBachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent work experience.5+ years of Powertrain Product Experience (transmission, engine, driveline) and Quality Engineering experienceIn depth knowledge of troubleshooting Automotive Systems and Components with emphasis on PowertrainStrong background in Powertrain Assemblies such as Engines, Transmissions and Drivelines.Strong technical knowledge of the design and manufacture of Automotive Systems/ComponentsExcellent analytic and problem solving skillsKnowledge of dealer diagnostics and repair procedures.Proficient in Microsoft OfficeAbility to travel domesticallyPREFERRED REQUIREMENTSManufacturing, design release and/or supplier quality experience are also desiredAbility to prioritize current issues, resolve them in a timely manner and effectively communicate resolution to internal teams and our customerExcellent analytic and problem solving skillsWorking experience with organization's diagnostic tools (wiTECH or CDA)WORK ENVIRONMENTHybrid - Primarily remote but will be On Site reviews on a monthly basis in Auburn Hills, MI10-25% to local suppliers in the Metro Detroit area
