Location: Madison, WI Position Summary The Food and Nutrition Services Director is a Registered & Certified Dietitian who provides department-wide food program technical assistance, dietitian consultations, and dietitian services for the Division of Adult Institution (DAI) and Division of Juvenile Corrections (DJC). This position establishes and implements food and nutrition program policies and procedures, and is responsible for compliance with established departmental policies and procedures as well as medical and food service standards. This position directs and monitors the modified diet program for residents with medical or religious dietary requirements. The Food and Nutrition Services Director consults with both the BHS and DAI staff on a regular basis concerning resident dietary requirements, including for residents with very complex dietary restrictions. This position is responsible for other food management related duties including: serving as a subject matter expert for the Departments Food Management Program, assisting with the administration of the food contracts, facilitating annual training for the food service management staff, and overseeing compliance to sanitation and safety standards/food temperature controls. This position also provides oversight to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program/After School Snack Program (DJC) as needed. Salary Information This position is in pay schedule and range 81-02 with a starting pay of $67371 to $111092. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A career executive trial period is required. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. This position has the flexibility of a hybrid in-office and remote work schedule. Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday- Friday Qualifications Supervising, leading, and/or overseeing the work of others (e.g. training, advising, reviewing work, etc.) Developing and implementing food and nutrition management policies/procedures Consulting staff on medical and food service standards Developing, reviewing, and updating complex modified diet programs (medical, religious, etc.) Using management software such as: Computrition, food/nutritional software, and Electronic Health Record. Special Requirements Certification as a Registered Dietitian by the Dietitians Affiliated Credentialing Board in Wisconsin is required.
