The construction manager at Velox is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of construction projects. The position involves project planning, team leadership, budget management, and ensuring the successful implementation of telecom infrastructure. They collaborate closely with the executive leadership team and directly reports to senior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership:
    • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of telecom construction projects.
    • Collaborate with all teams to define project scope, objectives, and technical requirements.
  • Team Management:
    • Manage and lead a team of construction supervisors and support staff.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Project Planning:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgetary considerations.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Budget Oversight:
    • Manage project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
    • Provide strategic input on budget planning and forecasting.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring project alignment with client expectations.
    • Collaborate with clients on specific project requirements and modifications.
  • Resource Optimization:
    • Optimize the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maximize project efficiency.
    • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely resource availability.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance:
    • Enforce and promote a strong safety culture throughout all construction activities.
    • Oversee and implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure work meets or exceeds industry standards.
  • Contract Management:
    • Manage contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project partners.
    • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Collaborate with engineering, permitting, and operations teams to ensure seamless project coordination.
    • Align construction activities with overall project goals and timelines.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Oversee the maintenance of accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports for executive leadership and clients.
  • Problem Resolution:
    • Address and resolve challenges that may arise during construction projects.
    • Provide leadership in implementing effective solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in construction processes, workflows, and methodologies.
    • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Skills/ Requirements
  • Several years of experience in construction management, preferably in the telecom industry.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing construction teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
