Job Description We are seeking an Electrical Principal Engineer with 7 to 10 years of experience for our esteemed client. This is a full-time position based in Ludvika, Sweden and will require on-site presence. Technical responsibility for definition, costing and delivery of AC protection and control solutions in tender work as well as execution projects. Detailed design and manufacturing sourced to sub-suppliers. Evaluating sub-supplier quotes based on specified requirements and future design. Monitoring the design and manufacturing process continuously while leading the dialogue with customers, suppliers, stakeholders etc. Reviewing detailed protection panel designs including interfaces to main components as well as intercommunication links. Maintaining compatibility between functional requirements, panel design relay configuration prior to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). Supervising Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) after reviewing supplier's test program. Providing remote assistance during installation & Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) when needed. The role reports directly to the Electrical Design AC Protection Control team manager within the HVDC automation group which is responsible for overall SCADA HMI systems IT/OT infrastructure cyber security telecom systems among others.

About You You are a seasoned professional with extensive experience in MV/HV AC substations' protection control systems. As an ideal candidate you should have a deep understanding of relay protection schemes - including protective functionalities like control measurement supervision etc. Your ability to take up leadership roles such as that of an AC Protection Control Lead Engineer for the AC part of HVDC stations will be highly valued. Proficiency in Electrical Schematics Automation testing and Electrical Design. Familiarity with various brands of protective relays (such as Hitachi, ABB, Siemens, GE) and their applications. General know-how in protection control panel design including business requirements best practices etc. Prior experience from power systems studies grid codes ability to evaluate correctness of protection coordination setting calculations. A good understanding of configurations testing requirements for protection systems. Experience in reading technical specifications managing sub-suppliers effectively. Fluency in English both written spoken is a must. Knowledge of other languages would be an added advantage.
