Finance Student Intern Minneapolis, MN

Overview::
HGA has an exciting internship opportunity for students who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a national interdisciplinary design firm. As an HGA intern, youll see textbook and classroom learning come alive across disciplines and projects. Youll learn the specifics of your profession while also learning about collaboration, and why the culture of a company matters so much. Youll find mentors. Youll find friends. Youll have fun. Most importantly, youll leave with new skills, networking connections, and actual experience to discuss with prospective employers.
This is a paid student internship and will be part-time during the school year and able to work full-time from June to August of 2025. The work schedule will be Monday through Thursday, from 8am to 4pm. Flexibility is available to accommodate classes during the school year.
- Be working closely with the department leadership, billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
- Routing and processing AP invoices
- Prepare and assist with General Ledger Account Reconciliations, including preparation of journal entries.
- Aid in the month-end close process and financial review.
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely monthly financial reports for the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
- Assist in annual audit preparation.
- Working on a variety of organizing and special financial projects
- Candidate must be at least a college sophomore pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required, especially with Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Work minimum of 15 hours per week.
- Willingness to work in the Minneapolis office as needed.
Salary Information::
Salary Range: $20/hour
