Your Responsibilities Summary: The Warranty Analyst is responsible for providing technical analysis of shock absorbers that have potential failure modes and communicating results to internal/external customers to improve customer satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same. Receives in failed or damaged shock absorbers from customers. Maintains work planning to include engineering test and production teardown support. Performs visual, performance, noise and teardown analysis of shock absorbers in order to identify the root cause of the performance failure modes. Performs microscopic analysis on components to investigate any abnormalities and causes for assembly failure. Documents and maintains records of all analysis performed and presents summary findings to customers. Accesses and provides analysis on all available data from customers' warranty claims to identify any trends in warranty returns. Performs timely documented analysis of warranty returns and assemblies in compliance with contract specifications, in order to determine proper responsibility between tkBilstein, customers, and suppliers. Assures time-sensitive deadlines for analysis and determination are met. Reporting of warranty KPIs to management. Determines failure modes and root causes by utilizing safe tear-down and testing of returns, microscopic examination of components, data recording, and photography/analysis. Feedback to PHAM via weekly working level reviews and monthly/quarterly risk review to the organization. Lead problem-solving for warranty issues, working closely with the CQE responsible for the end customer. Supervision of direct employees and mentoring of Co-ops. Continuous improvement activities for the warranty lab can include safety, teardown methods, data management tools, etc. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Your Profile Qualifications & Experience: Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance. Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills. Proven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers. Ability to negotiate with customers in establishing share rates and compliance with customer standards/expectations. Present findings to Upper Management and develop sustainable corrective actions to reduce warranty exposure. Ability to shift focus and multi-task as appropriate. Understanding of problem-solving tools (8D, 5Why, etc.) and ability to lead a team in those tools. Education: High School Diploma Required; Further technical education preferred.
