Overview:
The SBA Banker is responsible for ultimately owning the client relationship, providing expert service and advice, to drive towards the successful execution of the firm's strategy.
Responsibilities:
Cultivate referral sources to drive SBA loans to the firm.
Reviews financial statements and supporting documents, structures SBA loan proposals, completes initial analysis, and prepares credit package.
Originating sufficient volume of SBA Loans (7A and 504)
Establish strong relation with assigned business banking team to facilitate SBA opportunities.
Support SBA Credit Analyst/Underwriter & Closing Specialist in the collection of documents to complete the application & closing process.
Interviewing applicants and requesting specific information for SBA loan application, requesting credit reports, establishing eligibility, and other information pertinent to the evaluation of loan application.
Tracking and logging COI/referral sources, client and prospect Agenda Based Calls
Managing internal shared folders and maintaining pipeline report.
Develop a strategic client acquisition pipeline based upon parameters assigned by your line of business to deepen and expand your portfolio and the Banks presence in the market.
Focus on targets and deadlines; Possess a natural disposition to be focused on achieving production goals and calling metrics.
Ability to implement a proactive approach toward managing expenses to ensure a healthy P&L statement.
Keep abreast of the latest financial and SBA product knowledge, financial markets, and relevant regulations.
Stay current on business trends, including businesses which are thriving in your area of expertise.
Surface issues and provide feedback to appropriate corporate functional leaders for visibility and resolution.
Qualifications:
SBA Lending, Banking or related field
Formal Credit training program or equivalent work experience
Minimum 7 years in financial services or banking
Advanced knowledge and understanding of SBA, SOP, and Credit.
Active community participation and relationship development
Specialized industry knowledge
Strong ability to develop and recommend innovative solutions for our clients.
Strong ability to develop, cultivate and maintain client relationships with increased complexity (size of organization, number of deals, etc.)
Strong ability to drive client referrals to the appropriate segment/LOB for maximum client effectiveness and development
Strong ability to interact, negotiate and influence at more senior levels of the organization.
Strong formal business writing skills
Strong knowledge and use of Salesforce
Strong technical proficiency in the use of MS Office products for reporting, data analytics, and presentations
