Industrial Engineer – Lean Concentration

Sparrows Point,
MD
location.
This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities :
Supports our manufacturing operations to develop and optimize our process and flow, inventory analysis and assembly line layouts in our Equipment Platform.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, self-managed, flexible, and service-oriented and possesses strong integrity and professionalism.
Some travel is required within North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Some overnight travel required. ( Develops most efficient ways to utilize resources in a labor-intensive manufacturing operation.
Good understanding and application of lean methods and tools.
Strong aptitude to bring productivity from the continuous flow lines and cellular manufacturing.
Helps increase productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing operations.
Assists/coaches production Leads and Supervisors to problem solve and root cause the daily issues.
Assists in cost analysis, production planning and inventory analysis.
Designs methods to ensure product and process quality.
Optimizes plant layout, assembly line layouts and material flow plans.
Resolves production and information system problems.
Writes process procedures, develop accurate flow charts, and perform time studies.
Determines material flow, material presentation and operation sequences.
Performs mathematical calculations to determine best manufacturing processes.
Evaluates the effects of product design changes on manufacturability.
Determines and maintain KPI standards.
Position Requirements :
A bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering.
At least one (1) year of lean manufacturing experience.
Strong mechanical and structural aptitude, and blueprint reading knowledge.
Demonstrates the ability to run Kaizen events.
Excellent communications skills.
Problem solver, Practical and “hands-on.”
Proficient in Excel and other analytical tools.
Energetic and well organized.
Preferred Requirements :
Additional language skills are advantageous.
Knowledge of Toyota Production System a plus
