Job Overview and Responsibilities

Provide a competitive advantage by ensuring supply continuity, optimizing total cost of ownership, manage the performance of suppliers in an increasingly volatile environment and fostering supplier innovation that benefits our end customers.
* Facilitate the implementation of procurement strategic sourcing strategies for raw materials in portfolio through identifying opportunities and negotiation of terms with vendors. Identify cost and cash saving opportunities and drive procurement projects to realize savings.
* Develop plans to mitigate supply risk with the objective of consistent supply of good quality materials.
* Build long term strategic relationships with key suppliers so as to position Solvay as a preferred and trusted partner.
* Communicate effectively with key stakeholders and operational personnel to identify opportunities for savings and improved efficiencies of raw material purchases.
* Resolve accounts payable issues as it applies to key suppliers.
* Provide clear and concise updates to management on changes in costs.
* Manage supplier performance through consistent communication and surveys.
* Provide price and market analysis on key raw material and feedstocks.
* Support R&D on new and innovative projects and the sourcing of new raw materials.
* Analysis of risk in supply or sustainability of supply and determine plans to mitigate risks.
Education and Experience
* Bachelors Degree required preferably in Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Decision Sciences, or Business Analytics.
* 5-10 years experience in areas of procurement, business and/or supply chain, knowledge of chemical sourcing is helpful
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
* SAP experience beneficial.
* Negotiation skills and contract drafting experience a plus.
