Position Summary
Assist with the management of the function of the Human Resources Department within the hospital. Will be responsible for coordination of new employee orientation, licensure compliance, and various other duties as assigned to support the department.
Position Duties (Not all Inclusive)
- .Participates in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the trauma program.
- Maintain all aspects of the trauma program to include: Concurrent Review of medical records, concurrent PI, registry as input as well as injury prevention activities
- Review the plan of care for each trauma patient to ensure the trauma protocols are initiated and followed.
- Assist staff in problem solving related to care of trauma patients.
- RAC participation
- Disaster management
- Participation required in hospital wide trauma education for support or ancillary services and attends committee meeting as required.
- Community Liaison/Committee participation and/or activities that enhance optimal trauma care management.
- Staffing and non-trauma program related duties.
- Publish on-call schedule to address: posted call roster, response time, and posted back-up call schedule for a surgeon on call at multiple facilities.
- Manage protocol for bypass and/or diversion for occasions when general surgery is not available to respond to Trauma Team Activation involving a major and/or severely injured trauma patient.
- Activation involving a major and/or severely injured trauma patient.
- Notification of appropriate personnel through established system and pre-hospital providers to facilitate routing of patient to an appropriate facility.
- Continuous Performance Improvement monitoring by the Trauma Coordinator.
- Publish on-call Neurosurgery schedule for obtaining neurosurgical care. Call protocol roster, response time, poste-d back up schedule etc.
- Provide documentation of the 24 hours a day Emergency medicine physician credentialed by the hospital to provide emergency medical services.
- Provide educational opportunities made available to all levels of staff (i.e. physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals) on the Trauma Program and based on needs identified in the trauma PI program.
- Keep documentation of staff proficiency for all equipment in the trauma resuscitation area.
- Other duties as assigned/requested to support the mission/vision of the hospital.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English required.
- Texas Registered Nurse Licensure or Compact State w/o restrictions required.
- BLS (CPR) Certified required.
- ACLS Certification within 90 days of employment required.
- PALS Certification within 90 days of employment required.
