Job Description:

As the Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of Java-based software solutions. This leadership role involves both hands-on coding and providing technical guidance to the engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Java development, strong problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in leading successful software projects.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals.

Java Development:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of Java-based software solutions.

Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality and best practices.

Architecture and Design:

Architect scalable and maintainable software solutions.

Collaborate with architects to define technical architecture and design patterns.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

Mentorship:

Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Quality Assurance:

Implement and advocate for best practices in testing and code quality.

Collaborate with QA teams to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

Proven experience as a Lead Software Engineer or in a similar leadership role.

Strong expertise in Java development, including Spring and related frameworks.

Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.

Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud, with experience designing cloud ready solutions, including creating artifacts, models, and strategy presentations

Proven experience in assessing, refactoring and identifying opportunity for existing applications to take advantage of modern application architectures (e.g. Microservices, containers)
