Position Overview
LGES Vertech is looking for an experienced Data Scientist at our Westborough, MA head office. We are looking for a candidate, who is a self-starter and brings an entrepreneurial spirit, to join the Data Science and Data Analysis (DSDA) team and contribute to the data science products used to solve some of the complex issues and enhance system performance in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) industry that is seeing exponential growth. This software engineer will be part of a growing team that offers plenty of opportunities to work on different technologies to achieve business success.
Primary Responsibilities
Be part of the Climate tech revolution and help solve the most complex problems through software engineering.
Work closely with cross-functional and diverse teams throughout the data science product life cycle applying advanced algorithms - supervised and unsupervised ML algorithms and statistical algorithms.
Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based data science products used in the energy storage industry.
Work with time series data, analyzing huge volumes of time series data and deriving patterns and statements about what can or cannot be concluded.
Work in an Agile software development environment
Strong documentation skills and communication skills.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient in Python-based software development.
Proficient with data manipulation libraries like Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Plotly
Proficient in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Experience working with services on the cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Databricks/Snowflake/GCP) and containers (Docker/Kubernetes).
Experience with working, debugging, and deploying software on Linux and Windows platforms.
Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines.
User-level experience with Jira and Git or equivalent.
Education and Experience
B.S in Data Science/Computer Science/Physics/Math Engineering required, M.S. in same fields preferred
Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in developing production-level data science algorithms.
Experience in advanced concepts such as supervised learning, reinforcement learning, and active learning
Experience architecting software for modularity, optimized for memory, and run-time.
Good understanding of object-oriented programming paradigms.
Excellent ability to work collaboratively and communicate with cross-functional teams.
Experience developing AI/ML algorithms using time series data
Familiarity with microservices infrastructure on the cloud
Experience with SQL and/or Timeseries databases.
This position is full time and In-person at our Westborough, MA office.
