Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Cafe Barista is responsible for all aspects of the caf in accordance with the vision and mission of Onsite. The Lead Barista promotes our healing hospitality experience by providing exceptional service daily in the preparation and service of a variety of coffee/tea drinks, along with pastries and menu items.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with our Executive Chef and Culinary Services Manager and Front-of-House and Back-of-House staff to exemplify outstanding customer service and provide an exceptional guest experience to align with our healing hospitality approach.
  • Ensures that all guests are treated with a high degree of customer service while maintaining efficiency and quick service.
  • Prepare and sell coffee/tea drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, expresso, latte, and cappuccino, matcha, etc.
  • Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee?bar; maintains proper loss prevention standards.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee?bar
  • Oversight and assisting the cafe team as needed in clearing tables, washing dishes, replenishing snacks, and creating beverages to ensure smooth cafe service. This includes auditing all opening and closing duties completed by employees to ensure protocols are followed
  • Works with members of the Hospitality, Culinary and Operations teams to inform the overall comfort, cleanliness and atmosphere of the Caf.
  • Enforcing and monitoring all health, safety, and sanitation standards in cafe facilities; Reports accidents and potential safety hazards to management and recommends proper course of action.
  • Assisting with catering management for special events and programming; Managing clients' special needs around food and snacks, including but not limited to dietary restrictions, kosher needs, special medical needs, high profile client requests

  • Actively participate in the strategic execution of the Company's Vision and Strategic Plan as requested

  • Actively participate both in obtaining and maintaining Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation by timely assistance with all requests, training and adhering to Policies and Procedures
  • Exhibit understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance policy (e.g., HIPAA, CARF, etc.); knowledge of and adherence to Company policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal/state/local laws and regulations; maintain complete confidentiality in all client/program matters, in accordance with Onsite policy
  • Regular and reliable attendance

Requirements

COORDINATOR/SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates the work of others or implementation of processes.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Catering experience a plus.

Education and/or Experience: Coffee industry experience, 2-3 years of food service or barista experience preferred; Working knowledge and tactical experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.

Language Skills: Ability to understand, read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, safety data sheets (SDS) or governmental regulations. Ability to successfully write reports, business correspondence and policy. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and professionally interact with managers, employees, clients, vendors and the general public.

Reasoning Ability: HIGH. Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and initiate appropriate course of action. Must effectively convey ideas, images and goals to a diverse group of personalities.

Other Qualifications: General knowledge of computer applications for the frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized with the ability to perform duties under pressure, prioritize workload, and meet timely deadlines. Must have the aptitude and ability to self-direct work. Ability to work a flexible schedule with some evenings, holidays and weekends required.

The employee must work as part of a team, complete assignments independently and take instructions from supervisors.

Works in well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled maintenance environment with maintenance equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts. May frequently work in outside weather conditions being exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals, flammables, pesticides, etc.

Noise level is typical for a maintenance and therapeutic/trauma treatment environment.

Limited overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
