Immanuel Communities is seeking a Recreation Therapist to work at Deerfield located at 13731 Hickman Road, Urbandale, IA 50323. Deerfield has 122 independent living apartment homes, 32 independent living patio homes, 20 assisted living, 24 residential care apartment homes and 30 long-term care/skilled nursing suites.

Schedule: Days and Evenings. Alternating weekend.

Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

What You Will Do

The overall purpose of this job is to provide recreation therapy to residents. The primary responsibilities of this job include planning and implementing various activities with residents. This position is also responsible for communicating with residents family members and coordinating social gatherings.

Skills & Requirements

Bachelors degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.

Two (2) years experience as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.

Additional experience in therapeutic recreation within a skilled nursing facility.

Completion of Iowa-certified Activity Coordinator course or certified therapeutic recreation specialist within 6 months of hire.

Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.
