**Description/Job Summary**

Dohrn Transfer is a leading Midwest LTL Carrier providing less-than-truckload, truckload, and value-added services throughout our 10-state service area. **Dohrn is currently seeking a Shop Attendant PT at our Rock Island, IL location.**

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**

* Manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials

* General shop housekeeping duties such as sweeping, emptying garbage, cleaning bathroom and break room facilities

* Assist mechanics with retrieving necessary parts and tools

* Enter labor lines and parts into repair order computer system

* React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

* A minimum age of 18

* High School completion or equivalent

* Valid Driver License

* Must pass a NON-Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and functional screen

* Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen; Dohrn Transfer must receive a negative result

* Must have the ability to read, write, and speak the English language and also perform simple mathematical calculations

* Must meet all physical requirements

* Forklift and hazardous material handling experience preferred

* Must consent to a 10-year check on work history; Gaps of 30 days or more must be listed and explained; documentation may be requested; Discrepancies may prevent applications from being processed or withdrawal of the job offer

* Knowledge of basic hand tools required

* Ability to learn and follow established safety guidelines

* Interpersonal and communication skills

* Excellent attendance

**WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

* Speaking, hearing and seeing, standing, walking, sitting, squatting, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, balancing, bending at the waist, reaching, climbing, and lifting both above and below waist level will be required

* Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers

* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and 100+ lbs. on an infrequent basis

* Must be able to sit, stand, and walk frequently for prolonged periods of time

* Must have the ability to safely enter and exit trailers, vans, flatbeds, forklifts and tractors

* Must have the ability to work around and operate motorized equipment

* Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as specified in the job description

* May be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures and dusty conditions in the shop environment; must be able to perform essential functions in these conditions
