Description

The Power BI Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to deliver insightful and actionable data visualizations that support strategic decision-making.

This role will also be responsible for developing integrations between the Power BI and other systems, such as databases and third-party applications including but not limited to the company ERP and HRIS systems, public and private data lakes, and other data resources developed through company R&D functions.

Reports to: Technology Development Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using Power BI.
  • Transform raw data into meaningful insights using data visualization, interactive dashboards, and reports.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing data validation and cleaning.
  • Develop and optimize data models to support reporting and analytics.
  • Create and maintain documentation for BI solutions and processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and best practices.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate users on Power BI capabilities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Power BI development.
  • Strong understanding of semantic modeling and query optimizations.
  • Capable of building and integrating Power BI data transformations with DAX and Power Query.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of relational database technologies.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies, APIs, and protocols.
  • Experience with data visualization methodologies.
  • Ability to work with company leaders to develop and implement standards and process solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel periodically for conferences and other JLG office visits.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Azure Cloud services including Microsoft Fabric.
  • Proficient in Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Certification in MicrosoftBI or related technologies.
