The Wake Forest Health Network is a physician-led, non-faculty multispecialty group practice affiliated with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.We foster a supportive and collaborative environment where teamwork is valued, and every member plays a vital role in our success. Highlights:
The providers at Internal Medicine - Wilkes offer adult patients a full range of primary care services, including:
Preventive wellness checks
Management of chronic problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, arthritis and heart problems
Care of acute problems such as sinus infections and muscle sprains
Care and patient education for geriatric patients
Additional Services:
On-site labs
Extended hours
Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday: 7:30am - 5:00pm
What You’ll Do:
Physicians work to care for patients in a variety of ways, from treating chronic illnesses to advising about preventative healthcare. While physician specialties might vary, the commonality across specialties is that physicians primarily work to diagnose and treat injuries and illnesses. They often do this by performing physical exams, taking medical histories, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests, and recommending a plan of treatment.
Physician Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited medical school as a M.D./D.O.
Successful completion of residency and at an accredited healthcare institution.
Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License as a current M.D./D.O.
Board certification in primary care or related field from said residency.
Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start
Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing is required to start
