The Office of Public Utilities, Finance Division is seeking an individual to perform routine and complex accounting work for the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. Specific areas of responsibility include grant acquisitions, management and financial accounting, reviewing and filing State taxes, and preparing financial statements to properly present a fair and accurate representation of the utility's financial position. Prepare and enter accounting documents into the financial system. Review and verify financial system reports. Manage, direct, monitor and participate in Grant Revenue Acquisitions and Reporting. Maintain overall responsibility for utility grants. Prepare and/or review periodic performance reports due to grantor agencies. Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field of study and two years related accounting/finance experience. A working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and GASB pronouncements is desired. Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time residents.
