Job Summary

  • The Electrical Estimator will play a vital role in our success by preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial electrical projects. You will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, blueprints, and other relevant documents to determine material, labor, and equipment costs. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, construction practices, and cost estimating principles.

Responsibilities

  • Review project blueprints, specifications, and other contract documents to thoroughly understand project scope.
  • Conduct takeoffs to determine the quantity of materials, labor hours, and equipment required for the project.
  • Research and obtain pricing for materials, labor, and equipment from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Develop and present comprehensive and competitive electrical project bids.
  • Participate in value engineering discussions to identify cost-saving measures while maintaining project quality.
  • Assist with project budgeting and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • May attend pre-bid meetings and provide clarification on project details.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed project estimate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial and/or residential projects.
  • Proven ability to prepare accurate and competitive electrical project bids.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NFPA 70 National Electrical Code).
  • Proficient in electrical estimating software (e.g., Planswift, VSoft).
  • Excellent knowledge of construction materials, methods, and practices.
  • Experience with project management principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
