Surplus Sales Clerk

The Surplus Sales Clerk is responsible for effectively managing procurement and sales of surplus equipment and parts for JMTS and maintaining accurate surplus inventory records. Additional responsibilities include creating purchasing orders, completing storage activities, and distributing, collecting, and maintaining equipment. Other duties include: sending faulty equipment to be scrapped or repaired and filling out necessary paperwork for shipping. The Surplus Sales Clerk utilizes a computer to keep records of equipment status and manage procurement and sales processes. He or she should be conversant with regulatory and safety requirements intended to prevent accidents and work issues, and must provide effective solutions to customers' needs and requirements, effectively communicating with customers to develop client relationships through excellent customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience with online sales (eBay) is highly desired.
- Previous experience in an equipment management capacity is desired.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and various engineering software applications.
- Able to learn quickly company-based internet sites and databases.
- Requires excellent attention to detail.
