Details:

Outstanding opportunity for an Estimator, who will be responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings and ensuring that all information is available and researched in order to successfully bid and win projects.

Responsibilities:

Bid Administration:
* Conducts an initial evaluation of projects to determine best fit.
* Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, and setting priorities.
* Prepares bid submission budget by studying plans; understanding all specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each element of bid.
* Prepares and maintains status of plan reproduction.
* Prepares bid packages.
* Handles all client interactions in a manner designed to build a long term relationship.
* Solicits and maintains communication with clients and vendors.
* Transmits addenda and other bid information to client.
* Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from vendors.
* Submits bids and budgets by the bid deadline.
* Enters all relevant information into Crow"s Nest.
* Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

Project Knowledge:
* Reviews bid requirements thoroughly, asks follow-up questions as needed, and documents response.
* Has a thorough understanding of the scope for specific material and labor requirements.
* Performs a comprehensive final analysis and scoping of project prior to bid submission.
* Double-checks all critical work deliverables to minimize mistakes.
* Creates bid lists that fit scope of job.
* Includes value-engineering ideas wherever possible.
* Identifies creative ways to deliver additional profit if possible.
* Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Project Turnover:
* Properly turns over bid documents and other documentation to Project Management in a timely manner.
* Builds strong win-win relationships with other departments, including project management, production, estimating, accounting and company management.
* Reviews drawings with Project Management team and highlight areas of concern.
* Reviews job cost with Project Management team.

Follow Up and Closing:
* Knows architects, general contractors and other potential clients and can close business.
* Consistently follows up on submitted bids and budgets with client to close business.
* Communicates with others in the departments as needed to close business.

Job Requirements

Details:

Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Secondary education degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
* 3+ years of experience with soliciting vendor quotes in an architectural or construction environment with strong knowledge of woodworking industry.
* Experience in using estimating software.
* Ability to assess bid opportunities, manage bid schedule, attend site/scope review meetings, and maintain productive client communications.
* Change Orders; creating schedules utilizing state-of-the-art software a plus
