Are you a skilled Machinist with a passion for precision machining? We are seeking an enthusiastic 5 Axis Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will play a key role in setting up and operating 5-axis CNC mills and lathes within a job shop environment. If you have a strong background in CNC machining and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities: Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to understand the tolerances of finished workpieces. Set up or operate 5-axis CNC mills and lathes. Operate and understand measuring instruments, such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines. Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required. Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using various measuring tools. Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred. Set up and operate machines on trial runs to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems. Complete necessary paperwork and computer entries. Perform light deburring, buffing, or polishing of parts as required. Comply with foreign object prevention techniques when working on the product. Stay current and proficient with all applicable quality processes associated with assigned work. Clean and maintain work area. Participate in continuous improvement programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
