Position Summary
The External Credentialing Supervisor is responsible for the successful completion of the TeleSpecialists External Credentialing process and inventory management with all external hospital applications of TeleSpecialists physicians. The External Credentialing Supervisor ensures all provider’s privileging information is complete and accurate and all appropriate documents are maintained and current within Salesforce. The External Credentialing Supervisor also ensures that the management team is made aware of any potential issues with all inventory and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage a small team within External Credentialing
Manages the reappointment process for all TeleSpecialists hospitals, ensuring no physicians expire
Ensures the completion of external credentialing applications for contracted tele-medicine physician across all states.
Ensures the completion of applications for all new hospital contracts and implementation
Assist with the on-boarding process (externally) to include: Obtaining hospital privileges within the appropriate timeframe
Updates approvals in Salesforce through reporting and monitoring each week
Submits check requests to the applicable hospitals on behalf of the external credentialing specialists
Ensure departmental guidelines are followed to support all contracted hospital privileges and procedures
Identify and analyze the physician information received to ensure accuracy
Assist in the credentialing process by entering/logging/scanning information into credentialing system for initial, updated, and maintenance processes
Track the credentialing application process in order to promote compliance, process enhancement, and efficiency
Follows up on any missing information needed to complete the credentialing process
Provide management team with weekly reports identifying the process of all applicants
Distributes inventory and prioritizations to the credentialing team daily and/or weekly
Assist in the training of new hires for all credentialing functions
Makes leadership aware of any potential derogatory issues identified during the credentialing process and works in collaboration with practitioner to document/resolve the issue
Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 3 years of Credentialing experience required
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
Microsoft Office Suite
Credentialing Software
Certificates and Licenses:
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) through National Association of Medical Staff Services a plus
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
