Donation Program Coordinator - St. George DonorConnect is seeking a full-time Donation Program Coordinator. Our employees help save and heal lives The Donation Program Coordinator (DPC) is responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with assigned hospital partners at all levels of the organization. You will work with assigned hospitals to determine client needs, build a knowledge base, and develop strategies or action plans to maximize donations. You will be vital in coordinating and executing general education activities, such as conducting professional education presentations, assisting with developing education materials, leading the Donor Council, and facilitating donation performance improvement plans. You will assume responsibility for identifying patients in the critical care units who have met clinical triggers and necessitate a referral. You will also help educate and support hospital staff so they can independently identify patients who meet these clinical triggers. Additionally, you will collaborate with the administrator on call to evaluate potential organ donors, using objective clinical information to preserve the option of organ donation. Finally, the DPC will communicate sensitively with internal teams and patient families to obtain authorization for donation and an accurate medical/social history. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen. * As part of our commitment to provide a healthy and safe work environment, DonorConnect has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement* Training/Education/Certification: * Bachelor's degree preferred in science, marketing, sales, education, or public relations with strong communication and relationship-building skills and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience * Respiratory Therapist, Paramedic/EMT, or have 2 years of prior experience working at another OPO in Clinical, Family Services, or Hospital Services roles * RN preferred Experience Required: * Minimum of two years experience in a healthcare environment * Preference may be given to those with critical care experience and/or previous OPO experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Knowledge of the organ and tissue transplant fields is preferred * Understanding of the critical care environment * Self-motivated and possess the ability to meet the requirements of a demanding schedule * Strong Emotional Intelligence * Excellent public relations and interpersonal abilities, including conflict resolution * Demonstrated public speaking abilities * Solid oral and written communication skills * Able to work well with all levels of personnel in hospital settings from C-Suite to frontline staff * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate records * Must have the ability to act with flexibility and to maintain order in an environment of changing priorities and be capable of handling highly stressful situations in a calm and mature manner * Exposure to patient elements including communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and other common hazards DonorConnect is a PROUD Equal Opportunity Employer who Values Diversity in Both Experience and Background * Reasonable accommodation (valid religious or medical exemptions) may be made by contacting our HR department.
