As the Snowmaking Supervisor at Woodward Park City, you will manage snowmaking operations and maintenance year-round. Responsibilities may include:

Job Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
  • Setting up and shutting down equipment, checking snow gun function, and operating electrical, pressurized air, and water equipment.
  • Inspecting equipment such as guns, hoses, and hydrants and performing routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Set up snowmaking fan guns, check and adjust air and water hydrants, and hook up and clean out snowmaking hoses and equipment.
  • Relocating or moving snow guns and hoses to different areas of the mountain with equipment or by hand.
Monitoring Snow Production & Snow Quality:
  • Using air, water, and fan equipment to create snow. Adjusting water and airflow to snow guns based on wet bulb.
  • Monitoring snow quality and communicating it through appropriate radio channels.
  • Directing the activities of night snowmakers to produce snow through various conditions.
Safety:
  • Understanding and abiding by Woodward's safety protocols and precautions while operating high-voltage equipment. Ensuring safety requirements are met and adhered to at all times by yourself and your staff.
Documenting & Planning:
  • Documenting and reporting mechanical and safety issues and driving snowmobiles, trucks, and ATVs
  • Reporting/recording water usage in 24 hours.
  • Communicating with your manager and the grooming manager to plan day-to-day snowmaking operations based on department needs and weather forecasts.
Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in scheduling day and night shift snowmakers.
  • Conduct Seasonal Performance Evaluations for each of your team members.
  • Handle any employee relations issues that may arise during day-to-day operations.
  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring of seasonal employees.
  • Oversee and lead staff of up to 9 people.
  • Preparing and carrying out daily work lists and tasks.
Other responsibilities may include:
  • Operating snowmobiles, telehandlers, and quad that may be required to move snowmaking equipment or pull hoses
Additional requirements:
  • Must Be 18yrs or old
  • Must be able to pass a background and MVR (motor vehicle report) check
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Be able to work overnight
  • Work winter holidays
  • Work weekends
  • Flexibility with schedule due to weather events (lack of good snowmaking temperatures)
