Reconstruction Estimator

Established Restoration and Reconstruction Company is looking for an experienced Reconstruction Estimator to join their team. The Reconstruction Estimator is responsible for managing a wide range of functions necessary to successfully obtain, bid and price construction projects. They are responsible for ensuring an accurate scope of work is created, delivering a consistent and complete estimate, and maintaining a high quality of service in all dealings with customers, clients, adjusters, Consultants, and resource providers involved in construction services.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
1. Customer Satisfaction
- Establish customer relationship for construction services.
- Educate customer on the construction process.
- Work with customers to understand desired upgrades/changes.
- Ensure that estimates meet customer, and insurance requirements.
- Prepare the file to go into production.
- Sell the project to the client once approvals are made by th adjuster. Ensure that a Work Authorization is signed and executed along with payment schedules.
- Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project.
- Create an accurate sketch and initial scope of work for construction projects.
- Deliver a consistent and well-defined initial estimate.
- Recognize project constraints and/or needed upgrades.
- Work with Project Managers to price bid items, supplements and change orders if needed.
- Identify if the project will require pack out.
- Maintain contact with customer & Adjuster Monday, Wednesday and Friday (mandatory 3 days a week)
- Identify and document finalized project scope of work.
- Work with outside resources as necessary to support work cycle (i.e Structural Engineers, ITEL, Electrical Inspectors, etc.)
- Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates, supplements and change orders.
- Deliver and Communicate estimate to adjuster who is assigned to the claim.
- Provide contract to the insured to execute once adjuster approves submitted estimate.
- Ensure that all the executed documents are collected so that the project can enter the production cycle. This includes written approval from adjuster.
- Help work through any supplements that the project managers need assistance with during production cycle.
- Daily (every morning) follow-up on supplements, client approvals and revisions.
- Provide peer reviews for the other estimators in the office in reconstruction.
- 2 Years previous construction estimating and/or insurance adjusting experience.
- Xactimate experience is Required.
- Restoration industry experience preferred.
- Valid Drivers License.
Salary $60,000 to $70,000 DOE plus Commission.
