Routinely interacts with clientsConducts self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiencyEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCETechnical school graduate or successful completion of an HVAC Apprenticeship programHVAC Journeyman license.Universal CFC CertificationMinimum of 5 - years commercial HVAC experience at the Journeyman levelKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge of HVAC fundamentals to include basic thermodynamics and psychrometrics, basic electricity, ability to perform electrical, controls and refrigerant circuit diagnosticsProficiency in performing preventive maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on commercial HVAC equipment with cooling capacities in excess of 25-tons such as gas/electric packaged equipment (constant & variable volume), split systems, single and multi-zone ductless spilt systems, heat pumps and all related controlsProficiency in the preventive maintenance, repair and diagnostics of VAV terminal units, light commercial boilers, gas and oil burners, circulating pumps and exhaust fans of various sizesProficiency in the diagnostics, repair and installation of semi-hermetic compressorsProficiency in performing preventive maintenance with limited repair and diagnostic abilities on VRF systems, data center precision cooling units, commercial humidifiers/dehumidifiers and DDC systemsKnowledge of tools and equipment needed to perform service and repair on HVAC equipment and systems.Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documentsAble to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions and approaches to problemsAble to perform mathematical calculationsPHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTSAble to lift up to 50 pounds.Spend long periods of time standingAbility to climb ladders to perform workWork in high elevationsWORKING CONDITIONSDaily travel to multiple job locationsMay be subjected to inclement weather and hazardous working conditionsWork weekend or night-time duty as needed to include on-call duty Join Us: Today, there are 26 different companies that make up the CoolSys family of brands.Our valued employees are at the heart of our continued growth and success.
