Job Title: Entry-Level Accountant
Entry-Level Accountant with Strong Excel, QuickBooks, and Personal Assistance Experience
Location: Chantilly VA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel and QuickBooks skills, personal assistance experience, a basic understanding of accounting principles, and a desire to learn and grow within the company. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience to start their career in accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Data Entry and Management:
· Accurately input financial data into QuickBooks and other accounting systems.
· Maintain and update financial records and spreadsheets.
Reconciliation:
· Assist in reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts using QuickBooks.
· Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
· Process invoices and ensure timely payments through QuickBooks.
· Prepare and send out customer invoices.
· Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
· Excel-based Financial Analysis:
· Utilize Excel for data analysis, creating pivot tables, and generating financial reports.
· Assist in developing and maintaining Excel-based financial models.
Financial Reporting:
· Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Generate ad-hoc reports as requested by senior management.
· Compliance and Documentation:
· Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Assist in maintaining proper documentation and filing systems for easy retrieval of information.
Support Month-End and Year-End Closing:
· Assist in the preparation of adjusting journal entries.
· Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Personal Assistance Duties:
· Provide administrative support to senior management, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing travel arrangements.
· Handle correspondence and communications on behalf of senior management.
· Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Work closely with other members of the team to ensure accurate and timely timesheet reporting.
· Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders as required.
· Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
Internship experience or any relevant experience in accounting and personal assistance is preferred but not required.
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
· Proficiency in QuickBooks, including data entry, reconciliation, and report generation.
Soft Skills:
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Other Requirements:
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
· Experience with personal assistance tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and travel arrangements is a plus.
