About the Job:
The Director of Financial Planning is responsible for directing system-wide activities related to the annual budget process for both Elliot Health System (EHS) and SolutionHealth (SH), including budget development, monthly spreads, ongoing variance analysis, coordination of training and attendance at required meetings. The incumbent is also responsible for financial planning, forecasting and analysis including, but not limited to, feasibility analysis of new and existing programs. The Director of Financial Planning serves as the primary resource to EHS and SH on all budget and financial planning related needs.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain medium and long-range financial modeling to predict expected profits and losses, cash flows, and capital requirements based on changing variables and criteria.
Collaborate in the establishment and refinement of a stated financial position and prepare a comprehensive plan of goals, objectives, and actions to achieve and maintain the desired financial performance.
Complete strategic analysis related to evaluating investments, cost reduction strategies and business decisions.
Perform financial feasibility studies related to existing or new business, programs or services which may require substantial capital expenditures and/or generate significant revenues and expenses.
Coordinate activities related to the preparation of comprehensive operating and capital budgets for individual and consolidated entities of Elliot Health System (EHS) and SolutionHealth (SH).
Consolidate budgets from entities throughout EHS and SH. Summarize all data for presentation to the various finance committees and Board of Trustees.
Collaborate with the Vice President, Finance to develop and track key performance indicators.
Monitor variations in actual performance to budget for each entity and prepare summary reports describing significant reasons for variations. Identify and follow-up on any areas of improvements.
Develop monthly operating review reports for operational leaders.
Prepare special studies which analyze distinct areas of operations and provide information used as the basis for managerial decisions.
Coordinate the preparation and submission of bond reporting documents, insurance applications and financial aspects of community benefits report.
Coordinate the preparation and submission to tax accountants all materials needed to prepare 990 and related tax returns for all entities in the system.
Maintain budget platform for coordination with Workday and DSS software.
Who You Are:
Bachelors Degree required, Master's Degree in Business preferred
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare budgeting and/or financial planning/management, of which a minimum of seven (7) years included supervisory experience, required.
Strong knowledge of financial spreadsheet software.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Able to develop financial plans and tests to ensure financial strength.
