**Description**

We are seeking a full-time **Cook** for our campus located in Norfolk, VA. The Cook is responsible for preparing meals per daily menu and overseeing operation of the kitchen including, but not limited to, inventory, record keeping and planning.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00am 6:30pm, includes rotating holidays and rotating weekend shifts (7:30am 6:00pm)

Requirements:

* High school graduate or equivalent.

* 1 year experience as a Cook, catering or bulk cooking experience preferred.

* Must be able to handle all aspects of food preparation and use of kitchen equipment.

* Professional school experience preferred.

* Must hold a valid Norfolk Food Handlers Certificate, Servsafe Certification preferred.

* Employees must establish that they are fully vaccinated with an approved COVID-19 vaccine or that they meet the requirements for exemption from the vaccine.

Physical Requirements:

* Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds

* Must be able to push/pull a food cart which may exceed 200 pounds

* Must hold a high standard of personal hygiene and accepted sanitary procedures

Duties:

* Prepare meals from menus planned by the Director or Production Manager.

* Prepare and decorate residential cakes for all dorms.

* Maintain inventory and prepare menus for special functions as ordered by Department Managers or Dorms.

* Ensure cleanliness and sanitization of all work areas and inventory supplies for department.

* Follow USDA Food Program, Norfolk Health and Fire Department compliance.
